| A race around Orust - by kayak! This is an extremely social event where anyone is welcome to participate. It makes no difference what you paddle or how fast you paddle, only that you like to paddle long distances, enjoy camping and have a good sense of humour to help brighten the weekend! We’ll paddle around Orust during a two day period with organised camping at half distance on the island Vallerö. The concept of the event is that everyone should be totally self sufficient. There are no official judges, but everyone is their own judge. Therefore it’s almost completely free from rules but which requires common sense from all participants. When 6th – 7th August 2011. Where Start 08:00 Saturday morning in Ljungskile, followed by 52km of paddling to Vallerö and camping as a group on the island.Start every hour between 07:00 and 11:00 on Sunday from Vallerö, followed by at least 47km paddling to Ljungskile. Total distance is at least 99km. Entry fee Not one penny! It’s free to join. Maybe instead think about giving a small donation to the Swedish volunteer Sea Rescue service for their fantastic work. Prizes Eternal fame and glory for those who complete the course! In addition we have a number of generous sponsors who have donated some great prizes. |
